Math can be a tricky problem to solve sometimes, and it usually takes a while before you can find the solution. However, the ability to do mental math can help you perform calculations much faster, say the tutors of AHEAD Tutorial & Review Center. Soon, the process of dealing with large numbers can be as easy as Pi!

The first part of mental math involves getting fast results. When adding numbers with triple digits or more, break down the digits from highest to lowest (for example, 626 can be broken down to 600 + 20 + 6) so that it would be simpler to add it to another number.

The second part is being able to check your results quickly. To know if something is divisible by 4, you must focus on the last two digits: for example, 9536 is divisible by 4, while 7842 is not. And it will help you to remember that numbers divisible by 25 will always conclude with 00, 25, 50, or 75.

The last part is the one where you can have fun and amaze your friends with your knowledge of math. Here’s one trick you can try in the classroom: ask a friend to think of any number, then tell them to double that number. Afterwards, add 6 to the result, and then divide it by 2. Finally, subtract the resulting number with the original number. The answer will always be 3.
