The anticipation that follows the completion of a college entrance exam can be both thrilling and nerve-wracking. You’ve invested a significant amount of time and effort into preparing for this pivotal moment, and now, the waiting game begins. Instead of succumbing to anxiety and restlessness, use this waiting period wisely to stay productive, reduce stress, and keep yourself engaged. Here are some tips to take while waiting for your college entrance exam results.

Reflect on Your Journey
Spend some time reflecting on your academic journey and your goals. Consider what led you to choose your desired college and degree program. Reflecting on your motivations may help reaffirm your commitment to your educational path.

Pursue a Hobby
Engaging in a hobby or a creative pursuit is an excellent way to relieve stress and anxiety and keep your mind off the results. Whether it’s knitting, hiking, or baking, doing what you love can be therapeutic and is an excellent way to fill your time.

Keep Your Grades Up
Once you’ve submitted your college applications, you might feel tempted to abandon your study schedule and phone in a few assignments. Nonetheless, it is always important to never lose sight of your studies. Prioritizing your education and staying committed to your studies is the path to long-term academic success.

Avoid Overthinking
While it’s natural to wonder about your results, try not to obsess over them. Avoid checking your email or the college portal constantly. Set specific times to do so, and use the rest of your time for productive activities.

Volunteer or get a Summer Job
Consider engaging in volunteer work or part-time employment. Not only will this keep you occupied, but it can also be a valuable addition to your resume and personal development. Before college, it’s a good idea to start thinking about summer employment, internships, volunteer activities, and other ways to spend your summer. You don’t even have to limit your search to local employment. Consider remote or flexible freelance positions. A summer job might help you save money for college, learn more about an industry, and network. Even before you start college, be sure your credits transfer and that you have completed some general education prerequisites.

Find Scholarships
At this stage, you are still uncertain as to where you’ll be in college. So begin your search for college scholarships. Many scholarships have deadlines all year, so there’s always something available. Scholarships for high school seniors and scholarships based on career objectives are also options. Smaller scholarships, particularly those for specific communities or high schools, sometimes go unclaimed. To learn more about scholarship opportunities, make an appointment with your high school guidance counselor.

Spend time with Family and Friends
Spend quality time with loved ones. Share your experiences and worries with them. Their support can be a great source of comfort during this waiting period. You might start fantasizing about college once your applications are submitted. Meeting new people, visiting campus, and daydreaming about the future can all drain your mental energy. Make time, though, for the people you’ll see less of after you start college: your friends and family. Make time to spend with your siblings and parents.
