Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Do you notice that there are certain times of the day when you can just go on and on working on a paper or studying for an exam? There are also times when you just can’t focus, no matter how hard you try. Knowing your peak productive time will enable you to make the most out of every single day. Here’s how to determine when you work best:
Are you a morning person or a night owl? Do you prefer waking up early to get a head start on your day, or do you feel most productive after 6 p.m.? Once you have determined your “prime” time, schedule your most important tasks during this period.
Get rid of distractions. Make the most of your peak productive time by shutting out all possible distractions. If you find yourself browsing through Facebook while studying for an exam, for example, turn off your computer.
Take breaks to stay productive. Even if you’re in the zone, it’s still important to take short breaks to keep your energy level up. Try 10-minute breaks every hour: stretch, grab a quick snack, drink water, or take a power nap.
Night owl through and through here. I have to study at night because nothing seems to sink into my brain if I try to study for an exam during daytime. :)
I think this also applies to class schedules. I steer clear of classes that start early in the morning as much as possible because I know for a fact that I’ll just be daydreaming the whole time.
